Description

Whether you’re an SPL competitor or like it loud

In the battle for good and loud bass, you’ll need some good and sturdy hardware to emerge victorious. Kicker’s mighty and dependable WXA3600.1 Warhorse subwoofer amplifier will win you the war with wall-blasting bass and thundering drums. Or, if you’re a competitor, ear-splitting SPL programs and tones.

Beware the power of this Warhorse

This beast of an amp can put out up to 3600 watts RMS, if you feed it the right amount of electricity. It needs at least a double ration of zero-gauge power and ground wires and 200-amp fuses. (See wiring requirements below.) Symmetrical power supply and output stage circuits reduce radiated noise and stress on the amp’s internal components, for reliable performance and longevity. Microprocessor-controlled forced-air cooling fans help prevent the amp from over-heating, no matter how hard you drive it.

Installation Note: This amplifier’s power consumption is beyond the capacity of most automotive electrical systems. To power this amp, your vehicle will require electrical upgrades that include a high-output alternator, a Big 3 battery wiring upgrade, and a second battery.

Kicker WXA3600.1This amp has dual zero-gauge power and ground wire connections.

Basic tone and fancy remotes

Onboard low-pass and subsonic EQ filters let you tune the amplified bass sound to work perfectly with whatever subwoofer you employ. A remote bass level control knob is included so you can control your sub’s volume from the front seat. In addition, for all who love SPL, there’s a remote diagnostic display that shows the status of the amp’s voltage, current, and temperature, so you can monitor your system when bumping at maximum volume.

Competition feature

Competition-level bass lives in a world where the physical sound pressure vibrations produced can raise hair, crack windows, and actually twist an amplifier’s tuning knobs out of adjustment. The “Livin’ Loud” folks at Kicker have solved this issue with a Warhorse Competition Mode button that, when engaged, bypasses the physical rotary knobs on the amp and electronically sets the gain and crossovers for playing bass down to 10 Hz with a 4-watt speaker-level signal for input. This works especially well when using digital signal processing (DSP) in your source unit’s signal chain, where you have ultimate control over the system’s volume, balance, and tone. The Competition Mode also enables the amplifier to work in a high-voltage system, up to 17-volts DC, using lithium batteries for example.

Designed for Kicker high-power subs

Kicker designed the Warhorse subwoofer amplifier to power their SoloX® L7X™ Series subwoofers. These 10-, 12-, or 15-inch square 2000-watt rated subs come in (dual voice coil) DVC 1-ohm and DVC 2-ohm models. We recommend:

  • One 10″12″, or 15″ L7X DVC-2 sub wired at 4-ohms for a 1400-watt bass output. Then step up to:
  • Two L7X DVC-2 subs wired together at 2-ohms for a 2500-watt bass output. Or:
  • One 10″12″, or 15″ L7X DVC-1 sub wired at 2-ohms for a 2500-watt bass output (which may be a bit much, but Kicker thinks will be safe). Then step up to:
  • Two L7X DVC-1 subs wired together at 1-ohm for the full 3600-watt bass output.
